What do you mean when one says, “I Love You”

What do you mean to say "I love you." It depends on the context; however there is one commonality irrespective of the situation.

Love means "Acceptance." Total Acceptance without any pre-conditions.

A young man has been dating a young woman. After a few months of meeting over coffee, lunch, dinner and driving, the man tells the woman, "I love you!"

What does it mean? In this circumstance it means that he loves her and proposes to her that they get married.

Assume in another instance two friends (man or woman) meet after a long time. They hug each other and one tells the other, "I love you so much!"

We have seen parents telling their child, "I love you so much!" or a child telling his/her parents, I love you!"

In all these contexts the word "LOVE" means "Acceptance"

Accepting you as you are; without any pre-conditions like I will love you if you will give me this or will do that. Love is a pure emotion. It comes without prefixes and suffixes !! What is conditional love is a transactional relationship - be it at home or office or elsewhere.

So when you say, "I love you" be sure to know that you accept the person as he/she is. That is true love ❤️

Best wishes
