You are a product of the environment

Tell me your friends and I will tell you who you are is a famous adage.

Extrapolating this statement, one could deduce that:

If you hang around with 5 confident people you could well be the sixth.

If you hang around with 5 millionaires you could well be the sixth.

If you hang around with 5 intelligent people you could become an intelligent person yourself.

If you hang around with 5 humorists you could become a humorist.

If you hang around with 5 thieves you could become the sixth.

If you hang around with 5 self-less people you could become a self-less person.

If you hang around with 5 selfish people you could become the sixth selfish person.

Come back from a rose garden after staying there long enough, you will come back smelling as roses.

This is an eternal formula. Formula does not care where it is applied but wherever it is applied one could reasonably expect the outcome as a product of the environment; the maximum time you spend your time with.

Buddha says: Sangham Saranam Gacchami. A good Sanga is a company of good people.

The Buddha, the dharma and the sangha are three most precious jewels in Buddhism.

The Buddha is a teacher.

The dharma is teachings of Buddha.

The sangha is the community of monks and hermits where dharma is imparted.

Be in the company of good people always.
